Overview

The site is selling online tins (including personalised tins) in the continental US and Canada.

"The website was developed with Symfony and Sylius and it includes a custom theme that was designed to match the company's colors and logo. The website is used to present the company's products and to allow customers to buy online."

Technologies

How it works

The products purchase process has the following steps:

  1. Customer register or login on the site, add products on his shopping cart and set the shipping address.
  2. At this step the customer knows the purchased items total, but the shipping cost needs to be calculated and set by the administrators.
  3. Customer can proceed to checkout or can requests a shipping quote
  4. If customer requests a shipping quote:
    • An email will be sent to ChicagoTins
    • ChicagoTins check the order, choose lowest freight cost available and reply to customer via email with the estimated shipping cost
    • If the customer agrees with the shipping cost it will return on site and continue the checkout where they left off
  5. The last step of the checkout is the payment step:
    • If is returning customer, he should already have a payment profile saved so order amount will be charged automatically
    • If the customer is new, he needs to enter credit card payment information. A payment profile will be created on Authorize.net
  6. Administrator sets the shipping amount for order. A new payment is done automatically for shipping. The customer is also notified by email that the order was shipped.
  7. Customer can login anytime on his account and change his payment profile and shipping address.
