WebSoftix Story
Hi, I'm Virgil, the founder of WebSoftix, and I'd like to give you a quick look at who we are and where we started.
Our beginning
I founded the company in 2000, just a year after graduating from the Faculty of Informatics. It all began with organizing private computer classes in schools across the country. Alongside teaching, I started receiving opportunities to develop custom software. Two of my earliest projects included an application to help schools manage payroll and a application for a local cable company to handle customer management.
Software development
In 2002, I made the shift toward full-time software development. I started with a comprehensive application built in C++ using Qt on Linux, developed for a local sports betting agency to manage their operations. After a few months of intense work, the first version was deployed across their locations, successfully replacing the existing Windows application. The client was pleased with the results and approved additional funding to expand the system—which I was excited to take on.
Outsourcing
Our journey into outsourcing began in 2005, when I partnered with an Italian company to start building a dedicated development team. Together, we tackled a variety of exciting and challenging projects—sometimes as an extension of existing teams, and other times delivering complete end-to-end solutions.
Continuity
Over the years, we've had the chance to work with a wide range of people — clients, partners, and colleagues across distributed teams — and we're truly grateful for the experiences that have shaped us as fullstack web developers.
